Oftentimes, more interesting than designer handbags are the lives of the designers themselves -- little quirks and eccentricities, social circles, intrigues, and professional and personal relationships. An illustrious example of this is the late Gianni Versace, who successfully built the Versace design house.
Versace was born in 1946 in Southern Italy. At a young age, he had already exhibited great talent and skills in fashion design. His first venture into the industry was costume design for ballet and the theater, creating wonderful costumes made of plastic, leather, and metal.
Among the highlights of Versace’s career were his collaboration with renowned American photographer Richard Avedon, his 1982 collection of metallic garments, Elton John’s glam stage costumes in the 80s, and his eccentric designs for many of Hollywood’s favorite stars.
But more than his shocking designs was the sudden death of Versace – he was murdered in his Miami Beach mansion in 1997. His sister, Donatella, took over Versace and has been at the helm of the fashion house up to this day.
Versace replica handbags have abounded in recent years. These edgy designer handbags include the Versace Hot Flare Bag, a rare mix of patent and genuine leather. It has silver metal on top, a front flap pocket, and a buckled leather handle. Wouldn’t you want your own classic Versace handbag today?
